How CHOOSE Act amounts work in 2026-27
- Private school, pre-K: Check with the program. We haven't confirmed whether this program covers pre-K. Check the official site before you count on it.
- Private school, grades K-12: $7,000 per child. Same amount with or without an IEP. Tuition is paid to the school through ClassWallet; there are no reimbursements to families.
- Homeschool, pre-K: Check with the program. We haven't confirmed whether this program covers pre-K. Check the official site before you count on it.
- Homeschool, grades K-12: $2,000 per child. Homeschool families get at most $4,000 in total, however many children they have.
When the money arrives
- Private school and homeschool: The full year's amount is loaded at once. Students approved later are funded at the start of the month after approval. Full amount (100%): Jul 1, 2026.
Good to know
- Money must be used by Jun 30, 2027; it doesn't roll over.
